Dear Community,

Welcome to Toledo Preparatory Academy!  Toledo Preparatory Academy is a learning community that values high expectations for both academics and behavior.  Our staff embraces students, families, and communities to build and develop well-rounded individuals who are independent critical thinkers, and intrinsically motivated to be lifelong learners. We believe that all children can learn as we seek to make a difference in the lives of our students.

The teachers and staff at Toledo Preparatory Academy are committed to providing a quality education for all students in a safe, secure, and nurturing learning environment. We are committed to ensuring that each child reaches his/her full potential.

In addition to core academic subjects, Toledo Preparatory Academy students have the benefit of weekly art and physical education classes. Special services available to students include special education, literacy support, and counseling.

We encourage all parents/guardians to maintain regular communications with their child’s teachers and be actively involved in the school community.  Checking the school calendar, website, and our Facebook page for events and activities will help keep you informed. We are looking forward to meeting your child and helping foster a love of learning.

The Toledo Prep Administrative Team

Sandi Garcia, Elementary School Principal

Sandi Garcia, newly appointed Principal of Toledo Preparatory Elementary, has been an educator for over 17 years.  Mrs. Garcia first joined the Accel team in 2015 as a teacher.  After pursuing other interests, she was excited to be welcomed back to the Accel family in 2020 as the Director of Academics at Toledo Preparatory Academy. She earned her Bachelor’s of Education Degree from Florida Southern College and earned her Master’s in Leadership from the University of Florida.  While Mrs. Garcia loved being in the classroom and it was difficult to leave the classroom, she has found that in her new role, working with the students, the parents, and the teachers has been extremely rewarding.  She looks forward to working with the staff, students and parents as the Principal and looks forward to making a difference and making Toledo Preparatory Academy the great school she knows it can be.

Sara Szych, Middle School Principal

Sara Szych joined Toledo Preparatory Academy in 2020 as a Social Studies teacher. She spent 2021 as the Academic Director, before taking over the Principal position at the Middle School in the fall of 2022. Mrs. Szych began her teaching career at the Electronic Classroom of Tomorrow (ECOT), where she worked as a Government teacher. She spent 10 years at ECOT, where she would become a lead teacher and eventually a content developer for the Social Studies and Foreign Language Departments. Mrs. Szych earned her bachelor’s degree in education from Prescott College, and her master’s degree in educational technology from National University. Mrs. Szych is passionate about offering a quality education and enjoyable school experience to all students, as well as building positive relationships among families and the community.

Community School

Toledo Preparatory Academy is a public, community school. We are our own school district sponsored by the St. Aloysius Orphanage (Charter School Specialists) which provides oversight and enforces academic, fiscal, and legal accountability. We are managed by ACCEL Schools, a high performing network of over 50 charter schools located throughout the United States.

Community Schools (Charter Schools) offer families an alternative to the local public school. Community schools are tuition-free, open to all students in the county, and focused on meeting student needs for success. Community schools are among the top-performing schools in the nation.
